Dr. Nina Foot
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Foot will listen to your concerns and create a treatment plan to meet your personal goals. She uses a variety of techniques including gentle adjustments, Active Release Technique ® and the Activator® to get you feeling better and provides you with therapeutic stretches, nutritional advice and rehabilitation programs to optimize your health long after you leave the clinic.
Dr. Nina Foot’s experience with chiropractic began the day she was born when she received her first chiropractic adjustment from her father. While working along side her father, she learned that chiropractic care wasn’t about treating pain, it was about healing the body naturally, without surgery or drugs; it was about finding the root cause of the problem, instead of masking the symptoms. She saw how exciting and rewarding it was to be a chiropractor; becoming one was an easy decision to make.
Dr. Nina grew up in Duncan, with a healthy appreciation for the great outdoors and the ice rink. When she began competing as a figure skater, long hours of training and constantly falling on the ice created neck, ankle and knee pain and left her feeling out of balance. Regular chiropractic adjustments made the world of a difference in reducing her pain and helped her perform at her best.
She had a great experience competing on the McGill Figure Skating Team while she completed her Bachelor of Physiology degree at McGill University in Montreal. She then moved to Portland, Oregon and began her chiropractic studies at the University of Western States.
Dr. Nina’s chiropractic education not only taught her how to help others, it taught her how to look after herself. She was able to apply what she learned in nutrition classes to her own diet, and she learned how to prevent and treat many conditions, a few of which she had the chance to experience first-hand while training for her first marathon. Portland was a great place to be active and to enjoy yoga practice, frequent hikes, camping trips and snowboarding adventures. During her time in Portland, Dr. Nina also became certified in Active Release Technique (ART®), which is a specialized soft tissue technique used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr. Nina graduated in 2012 with Summa Cum Laude honours as valedictorian of her class. Since graduation, her education has continued, and she has taken courses to expand her understanding of chiropractic relating to pediatric and maternity care through the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association). She has also taken courses relating to gait analysis, custom orthotics, extremity adjusting, Active Release Technique®, DNS® (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization), Graston® Technique and the Activator® Technique.
Dr. Nina’s approach to chiropractic care involves assessing and treating each person as a whole. She works with people of all ages and will adapt her techniques to meet the comfort level of her patients. She believes that chiropractic care is a team effort between the practitioner and the patient. The more involved patients are in their own care, the sooner they will see results. Her goal is to educate and empower her patients to achieve their full health potential.
Dr. Nina has been practicing in the Valley since 2016 and is excited to offer chiropractic care, custom made orthotics, and Summus Laser Therapy.
Dr. Holly Hochstadt,
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Holly Hochstadt is a vitalistic chiropractor. She recognizes that the human body has an innate ability to heal itself, and that chiropractic care helps remove interference to our inborn healing
capacity, allowing for a fuller expression of health and vitality. She believes that health includes our physical, chemical, emotional, social, mental (and even spiritual) well-being.
She graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon in 1995 with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and has been practicing chiropractic ever since. She was in
Seattle for 24 years, then relocated to Lethbridge, AB in 2019 when the opportunity arose to return to Canada. She is delighted to be returning to the West Coast.
Dr. Holly offers a range of chiropractic adjusting approaches, including traditional manual chiropractic, drop table, gentle instrument, and gentle tonal style chiropractic adjusting. She provides chiropractic care to women throughout the perinatal experience, as well as to newborns and children of all ages. She is also certified in the Webster Technique to support pregnant people throughout their pregnancy. Dr. Holly has studied and practiced Bio-Geometric Integration (BGI) since 2000, and also spent several years studying Network Spinal Analysis (NSA). These tonal styles of chiropractic involve assessing how the body is storing tension, and facilitate the body processing and unwinding stored tension, and may also include gentle traditional adjusting. Her goal is always to find the best method for you, to assist you in healing and expressing more of your full potential in your life and in the world.
Dr. Holly’s philosophy of care is to address the root cause of your health concerns, rather than just treating symptoms. In pursuing overall wellness she may sometimes include nutrition or other lifestyle recommendations, as she recognizes that while healing happens largely from the inside-out, it is also affected by outside-in factors. D. Holly is a firm believer in the power of education and in empowering her patients to take an active role in their own health and wellness, and provides educational resources and support to help her patients on their path. She also teaches gentle fascial release techniques which give her patients more tools to support their body’s parasympathetic (grounding/healing) function, and may allow them to experience improved overall health and well-being. Dr. Holly is committed to providing personalized and compassionate care to every patient.
Dr. Holly works to create a treatment plan that fits each person’s specific needs and goals. She values integrity, compassion, connection, community, health/wholeness, gratitude, and caring for each patient like a beloved family member.
She looks forward to supporting the people of the Cowichan Valley community on the path of greater health and wellness!
